Before the Michigan Wolverines took on the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, Derek Jeter, and Michael Jordan mingled with famous Wolverine alums on the field.

Derek Jeter is arguably the best athlete to ever come out of Michigan. He spent his childhood and teenage years in Michigan before the New York Yankees drafted him. Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest basketball player of all time. The two legends mingled on the field before the Michigan Wolverines’s game against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. One can only imagine the epic stories that were exchanged between the two legends.

Jeter is a proud supporter of Michigan sports, proving that he has not forgotten where he got his start. He’s a huge Wolverines fan and a proud supporter of Jim Harbaugh. Jeter and former Yankees owner George Steinbrenner even had a bet each year for the Ohio State versus Michigan game before Steinbrenner passed away.

On the field, Jordan and Jeter also got to exchange pleasantries with Charles Woodson and LaMarr Woodley.

Other than New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, Charles Woodson might be the best football player to play for Michigan over the last 25 years. Woodson won the Heisman Trophy in 1997 and is the last defensive player to win the award. He was used as both a cornerback and a receiver at Michigan, but he was best known for his dominance in the secondary.

Woodley is another former Wolverines player. The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him in the 2007 NFL Draft. He currently does not have a job after suffering a torn pectoral muscle in November. Woodley won the Ted Hendricks Award in 2006. He was named a finalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award in 2006 as well.

With Jeter, Woodson, and Woodley each having more time on their hands, expect to see them hanging out around their old campus more often.
