While hosting the LSU-Wisconsin game to kick off the college football season, the Green Bay Packers petitioned the NCAA to allow the famous Lambeau Leap for the players.

Despite the NCAA’s mission to erase any kind of fun in college football, the Green Bay Packers understand tradition and the art of having fun while playing a game.

During ABC’s broadcast of the game on Saturday, the topic of the “Lambeau Leap” came up. The celebration has been a staple of Packers home games for years.

Even with the tradition and the fun of two high-profile college football programs playing at Lambeau, the NCAA denied the idea of allowing the players to celebrate.

I know what you’re thinking, so I’ll just go ahead and say it: the NCAA is the worst.

How do you host a season-opening game between a program that plays in the same state as the Green Bay Packers against one of the best players in college football and not allow one of the most famous celebrations in sports?

By banning the Lambeau Leap, you’re basically eliminating a huge element of what makes Lambeau Field so great. You don’t see a Packers game without a Lambeau Leap. It comes with the stadium.

Despite not having the leap, the game is still something to watch. You have two of the best running backs in the country in Wisconsin’s Corey Clement and LSU’s Leonard Fournette and an awesome atmosphere in Green Bay for a season-opening showdown. It’s a big game for both teams with LSU being ranked inside the top-5 of the Associated Press Top 25 poll.

Let’s hope the NCAA doesn’t fine the LSU program if Fournette hits the Heisman pose or something after a touchdown. Fun isn’t allowed and the NCAA won’t stand for it.
