UCLA and Texas A&M battled until the bitter end in overtime.

The UCLA Bruins learned right away that Texas A&M might have some issues, but they’re still a strong SEC team. For the second year in a row, a Pac-12 team learned the hard way that scheduling the Aggies right away probably isn’t the best decision. However, the Bruins proved that they are just as equally tough as the Aggies.

The Bruins would actually take the advantage early with a pair of field goals, but they could just not finish those drives for touchdowns. Josh Rosen struggled early as well too. Not making the soundest of decisions, Rosen would refuse to take a sack and flipped the ball into the air right to Priest Willis for an interception.

Still, the Bruins’ defense held strong and the Bruins would hold a 6-0 lead. Finally, the Aggies would get on the board with a Keith Ford touchdown. The scamper up the middle would give them the one-point edge. Once again, the Bruins would march down the field, but their inability to score a touchdown would be costly.

The Aggies would add a field goal and then a run from Trevor Knight for one yard to make it a 17-9 game. At this point, it looked like the Aggies were going to break things open. Rosen was struggling to make his throws and Myles Garrett and the rest of the Aggies’ defensive line was giving him trouble.

The game would appear to break open when Josh Renyolds caught a 40-yard touchodwn to make it a 24-9 game. With Rosen struggling to find his guys and the Aggies rolling, this one appeared all but over. That’s when the comeback marched.

Bolu Olorunfunmi would run a ball in for a touchdown. It wasn’t with ease though. He would fall over and manage to balance the weight of his body on his forearm and pop back up to run in for the touchdown. The UCLA touchdown would put them within eight. The Bruins would get the stop they needed on defense and then tie the game on a Kenneth Walker III 62-yard sprint to the end zone.

With a chance to drive the field and win the game after getting the ball back again, Rosen would throw another costly interception. The Aggies couldn’t get close enough for a field goal and the game would go to overtime. Knight would be the man of the hour again and would run in for the touchdown on fourth down to give Texas A&M the lead. UCLA couldn’t score on their possession and would lose the game after working hard to tie it back up.

Three Stars

3. Keith Ford, RB, Texas A&M

Ford had a solid day on the ground carrying the ball for the Aggies. He punched in a touchdown, to give the Aggies an advantage early. He ultimately got the offense rolling.

2. Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M

It was the pass rush that got to Rosen and caused him to make mistakes. Myles Garrett was chiefly responsible for making Rosen’s day a nightmare on the field.

1. Trevor Knight, QB, Texas A&M

Knight had a huge day for the Aggies. He made the big passes when they need him to. More importantly, he made the moves with his legs and scored the winning touchdown.
