The coaches have spoken, so here are the five biggest takeaways from the Amway Coaches Poll heading into Week 2 of the 2016 college football season.

The Amway Coaches Poll has been released for Week 2 of the 2016 college football season. With three of the top 10 teams in the country losing during Labor Day weekend, there was bound to be a shakeup in the eyes of the college football coaches.

It’s only Week 2, but the Associated Press and the Division I coaches view the top 25 very differently. The media naturally loves the Texas Longhorns (No. 11 AP), but the coaches are still high on the Iowa Hawkeyes (No. 10 Coaches Poll). With so many changes in just one week, here are the five biggest takeaways from Tuesday’s poll.

5. Everybody’s cool with Houston in the top 10.

The Houston Cougars look legit. Houston knocked off the No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners at NRG Stadium on Saturday, which catapulted the Cougars up six spots from No. 13 to No. 7 in this week’s coaches poll.

Strangely, nobody is really doing a double take over what the Cougars did against Oklahoma. It may not have set in fully, but Houston might be the one team in Division I poised to go undefeated this regular season, why with its four toughest games are at Cincinnati, at Navy, at Memphis, and a home date with Louisville in late November.

Nobody is questioning the man roaming the Cougars sidelines in head coach Tom Herman. Should Herman’s star quarterback Greg Ward, Jr. stay healthy this fall, Houston will likely continue climbing up these top 25 polls.

Houston will rise more because of other teams losing than anything the rest of the way. After all, Oklahoma was the Cougars’ biggest game of the regular season. All that aside, Houston just feels like a top 10 team and everybody seems to be fine with that heading into Week 2.
