DraftKings MLB Picks: Top Bargain plays for September 6th

Finding value is the ever so elusive, “Holy Grail” in Fantasy Baseball.  Making cap room for pitchers and big bats can make all the difference in a lineup. With a little elbow grease in the research department, I’m hoping to offer a handful of players that could give critical salary relief for tonight’s DraftKings MLB picks.

Tonight’s slate features 15 games, with the game in Colorado, again, standing out as the highest total. Colorado is projected to score 6.1 runs, ranking them as the highest on the slate. The next highest would include, San Francisco (5.5), Chicago (5.2), Cleveland (5.2), and Washington (5.2). Depending on what the Rockies’ lineup looks like, there could be a few players fairly under priced. Keep in mind, this value will come at the price of ownership. Here are my top recommended bargain plays.

Tommy La Stella – CHC (2B/3B) – $3600

Tommy La Stella was recently recalled from the minors and could provide value if he continues to bat near the top of the order for the Cubs. La Stella has had his fare share of struggles this season, but he draws a good match up against Wily Peralta. La Stella holds a .358 wOBA against righties and should benefit from the Cubs’ run projection of 5.2 runs.

Raimel Tapia – COL (OF) – $3000

Raimel Tapia is one of the Rockies’ top prospect and has garnered some playing time over the past few days. Colorado has the highest team total and if Tapia leads off, he’ll be one of the best value plays on the entire slate. It should be noted that Tapia should also benefit from facing the righty, Jeff Samardzija

Franklin Gutierrez – SEA (OF) – $3500

While Seattle may not have the best run projection, Franklin Gutierrez is another player, similarly to Tapia, that will benefit from a favorable spot in the batting order. Gutierrez is much better against lefties with a .373 wOBA and a .239 ISO split. He also has some impressive batted stats that may indicate an upward trend. Over the past 15 days, he has an average distance of 247 feet, an exit velocity of 98 MPH, and a 68% hard hit rate.

Daniel Descalso – COL (1B/SS) – $3600

Daniel Descalso provides another cheaper option from the Rockies’ lineup. Descalso, a lefty, should benefit from facing a righty, where he holds a .345 wOBA split.

Josh Reddick – LAD (OF) – $3800

The Dodgers are home favorites tonight as they take on the D-Backs. With a projected run total of 4.9 runs, Josh Reddick should be in consideration. Reddick is much better against righties, with a .358 wOBA split.

Tim Anderson – CWS (SS) – $3800

There a few options a short stop tonight, but Tim Anderson is on the cheaper side and could provide some consistency in a lineup. Anderson will face Matt Boyd, a lefty. Anderson hit lefties well, will a .385 wOBA split. I like Anderson for his ability to get on base.
