17. Chicago Bears (via DAL)

Codrea Tankersley . 17. player. 57.
The Chicago Bears need cornerbacks who can make plays for them, not just cover. Kyle Fuller looks like he may end up being a quality No. 2 guy but he’s not somebody who can go toe-to-toe with the best every opponent has to offer.

This secondary sorely needs a dependable corner like that. Maybe Deiondre Hall could turn into that guy but it’s never smart to bet on fourth-round picks like that. Odds are the Bears will go hunting for one in 2017. They’ve built up the front seven so the next logical step is to fortify their coverage unit.

Codrea Tankersley fits the kind of mold this team wants in their corners. Vic Fangio has long been an avid supporter of bigger corners on the boundary, ones who can body up on the A.J. Green types who use size to their advantage.

At 6-foot-1 Tankersley fits that prototype with good athleticism and adequate deep speed on top of it. What sets him apart may be his ball skills. He delivered five interceptions for Clemson in 2015. With more experience in a solid conference he should only get better this season. Barring any setbacks this would be a major addition for the Bears.
. CB. Clemson
