29. Pittsburgh Steelers

Michigan. Jake Butt . 29. player. 55.
It just goes to show that the Pittsburgh Steelers are very rusty when it comes to free agency. After losing Heath Miller to retirement after a long, succcessful run at tight end they were eager to find a replacement. They set their sights on Ladarius Green, fresh off his stint in San Diego where he’s spent time backing up or filling in for Antonio Gates. What they failed to realize was he never had much success with the Chargers to start with and then compounded the issue with injury problems. It certainly looks like wasted money at this point.

That only increases the odds that they’ll look to the draft to solve the problem. If they were able to land Jake Butt from Michigan, AFC North fans not from Pittsburgh would start groaning. Butt is a 6’6″ monster with solid speed to threaten the seam.

His eyes are adept at finding the football in the air and he has good hands and concentration to come down with the catch even in tight coverage. Put him in an offense that already features Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell? Points will come fast and furious for sure.
. TE
