Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton made an incredible dive for a touchdown and to give his team the lead over the Denver Broncos.

The Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton have looked much like the team that dominated last season early on in their first game against the Denver Broncos. After the defense forced a couple of big turnovers, Newton and the Panthers went on a huge drive against Denver. In a physically exhausting drive that wore the defense down, the Panthers went 18 plays and then Newton topped it off with an incredible rushing touchdown.

As Newton got outside the tackles, he dove for the end zone and got in for the score. The score put the Panthers ahead of the Broncos and Newton celebrated with a new touchdown.

With the rushing touchdown, Newton set the NFL record for career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback. It’s crazy considering that Newton is only in his sixth season as a quarterback, but that’s the type of player that Newton is.

After Newton did his brand new dance in the end zone, the Denver crowd began to let him have it. The crowd chanted “Super Bowl” as the Panthers kicked the PAT and they kept on booing. For Newton, it was a reminder of how great he can be when takes off running.
