Carolina Panthers scored the first touchdown of the season against the Denver Broncos.

The Carolina Panthers came out with a big chip on their shoulder after losing to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50. On Thursday night, the Panthers’ defense came out and forced a fumble early and Cam Newton took it from there. With Kelvin Benjamin having returned after missing all of last year, Newton had his favorite weapon back.

He made quick use of his favorite target as well. As Benjamin ran a vertical pattern down the middle of the field, Newton hit him in the end zone and the Panthers got on the board first in impressive fashion.

For the Panthers, it was a great start to the season and a great sign that the offense was moving the ball well. It was also a great sign that Benjamin was able to make the moves to get the Panthers down the field and that he was able to finish off the drive with an impressive touchdown. If there was one negative for Carolina last year, it was the lack of a receiving presence.

If this Benjamin is around for the Panthers, then they have a great chance of getting back to the Super Bowl this season.
