The San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs will meet up in an AFC West battle in Week 1. Here is a list of those players listed as inactive.

The AFC West will be one of the more competitive divisions in the NFL during the 2016, and the Kansas City Chiefs figure to be in the thick of things. In Week 1, they will play host to divisional rival San Diego Chargers, in an early AFC West match-up. The Chargers are not expected to be near the top of the division, but they have the offensive firepower to compete each week.

The Chiefs will be without star running back Jamaal Charles, who is still trying to come back from a torn ACL. Spencer Ware will be the starter for Kansas City on Sunday, and should find easy sledding against a shoddy San Diego defense. Ware has played well against the Chargers in the past, and will get the bulk of the carries in Week 1.

Kansas City will also be without their best pass rusher, as Justin Houston is not expected to return until November. Houston and teammate Tamba Hali have made Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers life a living hell in the past, so expect Rivers to have more time than usual to throw. The Chiefs also will be debuting two rookie cornerbacks, as Sean Smith has made the move to the Oakland Raiders.

Here are the inactives for Sunday’s match-up.

Opening up against a divisional rival is never easy, but Kansas City has one of the better home-field advantages in all of football. Rivers is always going to compete until the final whistle, but the Chiefs will be too much for them in Week 1.
