Earlier this summer the Indiana Pacers traded veteran point guard George Hill to the Utah Jazz. With voluntary player workouts starting soon, and training camp in two weeks, Hill recently made his way to his new home city of Salt Lake City. On Monday night he started to explore his new home city and came upon a group of homeless people. So George Hill did a great thing.

For those who don’t feel like reading that long caption, Hill bought Wendy’s and bottled water for the group. Then, unlike many people, Hill took the time to stay with the group after he handed out food.

More from NBA

This is just a wonderful story. Being in a new city Hill could have done nothing. Instead he decided to make the nights of a lot of people by just buying them dinner and listening to their stories.

The other cool part about this post is Hill’s message. By asking people to share their good deeds with him, Hill pushes people to do good. Recognition from an NBA player is a big deal to a lot of people. So expect plenty of good stories from Hill’s feed in the coming days. And considering how terrible things can be sometimes it is a nice reminder of how great athletes can be.

Especially George Hill. That guy is pretty awesome.

Next: Isaiah Thomas made a stranger's day recently too.
