The Los Angeles Rams’ offense failed to show up and Aaron Donald decided not to stick around.

51. Final. 28. 42. 0

The Los Angeles Rams are back! That’s about the extent of what happened on Monday Night Football, as the team continued to embarrass themselves over and over. If they weren’t getting rolled over on both sides of the field, they were watching their best player get ejected for making contact with an official.

The Rams came into this game as the favorites and were expecting Case Keenum to be a steady hand at the quarterback spot. Well none of those things are remotely accurate when describing this game. Todd Gurley also did nothing of note as well, which is about the extent of his night as well.

The 49ers got the scoring started off with a Carlos Hyde touchdown. Somewhere after several disgruntled Jeff Fisher expressions, came a Shaun Draughn scamper into the end zone as well. By this point, the eulogy was being written for the Rams and the city of St. Louis appeared to have gotten the good end of the deal with crippling bankruptcy.

In the second half, a drunk guy ran on the field and that was the offensive showcase of the night. From there, Aaron Donald would get ejected and he might actually be the smartest guy on the Rams for not sticking it out. The Rams made a glorious return and San Francisco made Chip Kelly look like a genius. Just another night by the bay.

Highlights

Three Stars

3. Vance McDonald

The big tight end caught the touchdown that put the finishing touches on the game. He was a big target for Blaine Gabbert and a problem for the Rams’ defense.

2. NaVorro Bowman

He led the way defensively and gave the Rams fits all night. He had an interception and shut down the run consistently. He’s the anchor the 49ers need every game.

1. Kevin Harlan

On the radio side of things, Harlan was nothing short of brilliant. His call of the drunk guy on the field really propelled fans to finish this game out.

Betting Odds

The Rams came into the game as three-point favorites. By getting absolutely destroyed on the road, the Rams failed to cover the spread. This wasn’t exactly a favorable game to bet on in the first place for experienced gamblers.

What’s Next

The Rams will play their first game at home on Sunday. They will play host to the Seattle Seahawks and hope that they can get some semblance of an offense going. The 49ers will hit the road and hope they can put up a fight against an angry Carolina Panthers team.
