The Alabama Crimson Tide tie the game up on a strip sack of Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly by Ryan Anderson, recovered by Da’Ron Payne.

The Alabama Crimson Tide have now tied the ball game up with the Ole Miss Rebels at 28 points apiece after a strip sack by Ryan Anderson of Rebels quarterback Chad Kelly.

Kelly did not feel Anderson’s pressure and fumbled the football deep in Rebels’ territory. Da’Ron Payne would land on Kelly’s fumble in the Ole Miss end zone to make it 28-27 Rebels. Kicker Adam Griffith’s successful point after attempt would tie the game up at 28 early in the third quarter.

The Rebels have conceded 21 straight unanswered points to the No. 1 team in the nation. Ole Miss is in must-win mode after dropping its Week 1 opener against the Florida State Seminoles down in Orlando.

Alabama looked discombobulated in the first half, but two late second quarter scores would bring the Crimson Tide within seven points of Ole Miss at halftime. Alabama got the football back to start the second half, but would be forced to punt on its first possession.

Punter J.K. Scott pinned Ole Miss deep in their own territory with a great punt. Ole Miss has not been a strong running team under head coach Hugh Freeze. Usually the Rebels’ best ground game has come from its many dual-threat quarterbacks.

Kelly wasn’t able to extend the play as long as he would have liked to on this strip sack by Anderson. The Rebels quarterback has shown a great knack for making big times plays for Ole Miss this season. However, his inability to take care of the football has proven costly in two of the Rebels’ first three games in 2016.
