South Carolina State was already down 21-0 to Clemson before the Bulldogs return man forgets to take a knee in the end zone. Clemson scores to make it 28-0.

The Clemson Tigers had not looked great in their first two victories of the season. Clemson survived a road scare at Auburn Week 1. The Tigers held on to beat the Troy Trojans at home in Week 2.

After slipping to No. 5 in the AP Top 25 Poll entering Week 3, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney had his team fired up to take on the South Carolina State Bulldogs for a noon kickoff at Death Valley on Saturday afternoon.

Clemson was already up 21-0 early on the Bulldogs in this certain Week 3 blowout victory for the Tigers. South Carolina State was still reeling from an early third touchdown by the Tigers. A Bulldogs kickoff returner forgets to take a knee in the end zone for a touchback.

He tosses the football to the official but forgot to realize that this was still a live ball. Clemson would recover the South Carolina State fumble to go up 28-0 on that Bulldogs mental lapse. The Tigers would take a 31-0 lead on the Bulldogs heading into the second quarter.

Clobbering South Carolina State at home isn’t going to do a lot to elevate Clemson’s falling stock in the early part of the season. The Tigers might move up into the top four should any of the top three teams in nation loss on the road. Alabama is at Ole Miss, Florida State is at Louisville, and Ohio State is at Oklahoma.

A strong win over the Bulldogs should galvanize what has been a stagnant Tigers offense for Clemson in the early part of 2016.
