The winless Indianapolis Colts host the 1-1 San Diego Chargers on Sunday. Here how to watch these teams square off.

Here we go again.

For the third consecutive season, the Indianapolis Colts have lost their first two games.

In 2014, it didn’t seem to matter. Chuck Pagano’s club eventually reached the AFC Championship Game. A year ago, it was the beginning of a disappointing season as quarterback Andrew Luck missed nine games and the team finished 8-8.

So before writing off the Colts this season (and who in their right mind would do that after two games?) let’s see what Week 3 brings. This Sunday, the San Diego Chargers come to town and Mike McCoy’s team has not had many problems lighting up the scoreboard in 2016. Quarterback Philip Rivers and company come off a 38-14 thrashing of the Jacksonville Jaguars, this after putting 27 points on the board the previous week in a bitter overtime loss at Arrowhead Stadium.

Of course, in each of their first two games, the Bolts have had to endure some bad news in terms of injuries. Wide receiver Keenan Allen was lost for the year against the Kansas City Chiefs. Against the Jaguars, versatile running back Danny Woodhead went down with a right knee injury (via NFL.com).

McCoy and his club won’t get much sympathy from the Colts. The team’s secondary has been swallowed whole by the injury bug (think Men in Black big), especially at cornerback. We haven’t seen Pro Bowler Vontae Davis to date, while Darius Butler was injured on Sunday at Denver returning a Trevor Siemian interception.

Dating back to 2005 (the year before Rivers took over as the regular starter) and including a pair of playoff encounters, the Chargers have owned this series – posting a 6-1 mark in the last seven meetings. That includes a surprising 3-0 mark at Indianapolis over that span. This has the making of a wild affair and it’s a game that the host Colts obviously can’t afford to lose.
