Let’s take a look at what the Houston Texans and New England Patriots will be wearing for Thursday Night Football in Week 3.

Not only does Thursday Night Football signify the start of a new NFL week, it gives fans a chance to see their favorite teams in some nontraditional uniforms.

The league introduced new, colorful jerseys for eight teams playing on Thursday night a year ago, aptly naming the promotion Color Rush. Reviews were mostly negative, as colorblind fans couldn’t differentiate between some of them and the Jets-Bills Christmas-themed matchup on November 12 caused a headache for everyone.

Still, the league decided to expand the Color Rush jerseys to all 32 teams this season, and many will get a chance to wear them in a Thursday night game. Unfortunately, we will only get to see one colorful jersey in Week 3’s matchup between the Houston Texans and New England Patriots.

Here’s what the Texans’ Color Rush jerseys were supposed to look like:

However, the Texans will be in all white on Thursday evening, as the jersey is too similar to New England’s Color Rush uniforms. Those are pretty boring and unimaginative, at least compared to some other uniforms from the promotion, so it’s not a terribly huge loss.

The Patriots will wear these on Thursday night in New England.

We’ll have to wait to see them in action, but the all blue should be one of the better Color Rush looks so far. Thursday will be the first time New England has worn new uniforms since 2003, when Tom Brady and Bill Belichick had just one Super Bowl ring.

The Patriots will hope the uniforms bring some good luck to rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett, as he will be making his first career start against a stingy Texans defense.
