FedEx Field is usually reserved for Washington Redskins games, but on Saturday, it will play host to a college football matchup. The West Virginia Mountaineers and BYU Cougars will do battle inside the 79,000 seat stadium, and it should be a good contest. It is the first ever meeting between the two schools.
West Virginia comes off of a bye week, after opening the season with wins against Missouri and Youngstown State. The game against BYU will finish up their non-conference schedule, as the Mountaineers look to carry a 3-0 record into conference play. BYU will be their biggest test of the season so far, as they boast an aggressive defensive unit.

The Cougars will be looking to get after Skyler Howard, who had been dealing with a rib injury during prep for the Youngstown State game. Howard was able to take advantage of the bye week, and is now full healed and ready to go. For the season, the quarterback has thrown for over 640 yards and five touchdowns.
BYU is led by first-year head coach Kalani Sitake, who is a former fullback for the university. Former BYU star quarterback Ty Detmer serves as the team’s offensive coordinator, and he has a nice quarterback in Taysom Hill. The redshirt senior is a dual-threat weapon, who does a little bit of everything for the Cougars.

This has the markings of a good game, as BYU has proven it can play with anyone. They have lost their last two games by a combined four points to UCLA and Utah, and looked good in their win against Arizona in the season opener. Howard is a solid quarterback, but he may find the BYU defense a little too tough to move the ball against.
