The LSU Tigers have reportedly fired their head coach Les Miles and their offensive coordinator Cam Cameron after losing to the Auburn Tigers on Saturday.

All is not well in Baton Rouge with the LSU Tigers football program. The Tigers lost an absolute heartbreaker to the Auburn Tigers on Saturday night, 18-13 to fall to 2-2 on the year. The University has had enough and on Sunday announced the firing of head coach Les Miles. Offensive coordinator Cam Cameron was also fired.

The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger first reported the news of the Miles and Cameron firings. LSU will have to play the next eight regular season games with an interim staff. Miles had been with the program since 2005 taking over for Nick Saban, who left for the NFL’s Miami Dolphins.

LSU has been arguably the worst offensive team in the Power 5 among teams that matter for much of the last several years. No matter the talent that comes into Baton Rouge, head coach Les Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron couldn’t get their offensive players to gel.

LSU has elite football talent in-state in Louisiana. It is the only Power 5 school in the state. LSU has easy recruiting access to neighboring states like Texas, Mississippi, and Alabama. The Tigers have the best home-field advantage of any team in college football at Death Valley. If they lock down recruitment, this could be the next unstoppable program in the entire Power 5.

This will be the most sought-after job in the Power 5, maybe ever. Expect the next head coach of the Tigers to be a great recruiter and a brilliant offensive mind. LSU now has the pick of the litter in replacing Miles before the 2017 college football season.
