Watford impressed everyone in beating Manchester United three weeks ago, but experienced something of a reality check on Monday, losing 2-0 away at Burnley. But the loss to Burnley should be a concern. It was the sort of flat performance that, if it becomes the norm, will ensure the Hornets find themselves in the relegation battle they did so well to avoid last season.

Bournemouth have been inconsistent to start the season, but their win last week against then-second place Everton could be just what Eddie Howe’s side need. New signing Jack Wilshere had by far his best game for the club, and they displayed a poise on the ball they have been lacking for most of the year. The Cherries are in 15th place, level on points with four other teams (including Watford) that could all potentially wind up battling the drop. Suffice it to say, this is a very important game between two evenly matched teams.
