Alberto Del Rio seemingly missed this past weekend’s AAA wrestling event due to an altercation, which resulted in him getting attacked.

Alberto Del Rio has been in wrestling headlines for the past few months. It started with his WWE Wellness Policy violation in August, which called for him to be out 30 days. However, he and the company reached an agreement to part ways before the suspension ended.

Well, the former WWE Champion appeared in headlines once again. He no-showed an AAA wrestling event, Heroes Inmortales X, over the weekend. The 39-year-old had been set to team with Psycho Clown to face Dr. Wagner Jr. and Pagano. PW Insider had reported that Del Rio was in the Orlando, FL area where TNA Bound for Glory took place on Sunday, leading to speculation that he could be debuting. This never took place, though.

Del Rio had been involved in something else this past weekend, though. According to Mexico’s Greatest Export’s Instagram account, he got stabbed in an incident outside a restaurant. This resulted in multiple gashes, which kept him off his flight for the AAA event.

In the latter part of the text, it gets noted that Del Rio won’t miss another show for the rest of the year. He’ll also be around for a U.K. tour.

The statement and photos can be seen below. Warning: The images of Del Rio’s injuries may be graphic.

It’s a good sign that Del Rio will be able to return to action soon. The fact these aren’t life-threatening wounds is a bigger positive. Hopefully, he’ll make a successful recovery and get going again in the wrestling industry.
