The latest betting odds, trends and more for this NFL Week 5 matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Houston Texans.

This Week 5 matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Houston Texans should be extremely interesting. The 4-0 Vikings come into this game on a complete tear, but the 3-1 Texans will undoubtedly be ready to give them a fight.

This Vikings’ defense is absolutely loaded with talent. Add in the solid play from Sam Bradford and the Vikings’ offense, and they have become legitimate Superbowl contenders.

The Texans have not been as dominant as the Vikings, but they are a talented team that could make some noise. It will not be easy to go into Minnesota and come away with a victory, but the Texans are not 3-1 by mistake. This is a talented football team.

Oddshark lists the Vikings as six point home favorites in this game. While the Texans are undoubtedly talented, they are running into a buzz saw here. It should not be a surprise to anyone to see the Vikings as major favorites in this game.

Vegas also expects this to be a low scoring affair, as the Over/Under is set at 39.5 points.

In a game between two strong teams, the trends do not paint an obvious picture here. Minnesota is 5-0 against the spread in their last five games overall, and have the same record in their last five against the spread at home.

However, the Texans are 6-2 in their last eight games against the spread. If you are looking for a strong trend, the UNDER bet seems solid here. In both team’s last six games, the UNDER has hit five times. Even with such a low total point line, the UNDER looks solid.

Odds

Line: MIN -6
Over/Under: 39.5

These are two teams who appear to be obvious contenders in their respective conferences. This should be a fun and interesting game that could legitimately go either way. The Vikings are tough, but it would be unwise to count the Texans out here.

This game will kickoff at 1 p.m. ET at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Each and every snap will be televised live on CBS.
