Best college football quarterback born in every state

Minnesota: Chris Weinke – Florida State Seminoles
There are two quarterbacks born in Minnesota vying for the title of best college quarterback born in the state. One of them is Steve Walsh, who led the Miami Hurricanes to the 1987 National Championship. He also finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting the following season.
The other signal-caller born in the North Star State is Chris Weinke, whose college career was even more impressive. As a sophomore in 1998, Weinke led the Florida State Seminoles to a 9-1 record and a No. 2 national ranking. During his junior season, he led the Seminoles to their first undefeated season and second National Championship. In his senior year, he led FSU to a third straight National Championship game and won the Heisman Trophy. After his prestigious career, Weinke’s jersey was retired. He was only the second FSU quarterback to receive the honor.
His pro career wasn’t as successful as his college career, but he forged an impressive legacy in Tallahassee. Chris Weinke is the greatest college quarterback to call Minnesota his birthplace.
