Nevada: David Humm – Nebraska Cornhuskers

Nevada is known for Las Vegas and very hot weather. People think of casinos and unmitigated fun when the state is mentioned. No one really thinks of good college quarterbacks who hail from the state. Some might wonder if any even exist.

One of the better college quarterbacks from Nevada was Tony Graziani. He was a four-year letterman for the Oregon Ducks, but he wasn’t as successful as the state’s best. David Humm, a two-time Super Bowl champion, takes the title of best college quarterback born in the Silver State.

Humm was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and attended Bishop Gorman High School. After he graduated, he became a three-year letterman for the University of Nebraska. He was also a member of their 1971 National Championship team. Humm would continue to have success in his collegiate career, especially in 1974, when he was selected to the All-Big Eight team and was a second-team All-American.

Needless to say, Humm is the best college quarterback born in Nevada. Only time will tell if someone eventually surpasses him.
