Keys to Victory

For the Cardinals to have a big night at home, Carson Palmer needs to get a little more air under his passes. Defensive backs have been playing back a little bit and that has cut off the deep throws for the Cardinals. Jets head coach Todd Bowles knows Arizona better than anyone in the league and will have some plays dialed up to force some turnovers.

The Jets’ secondary has to also be a lot better. They have struggled against passing attacks and speed. Arizona is all about having a strong passing attack and speed. They will target the Jets early and often with the likes of John Brown, J.J. Nelson and others that can blaze down the sidelines.

David Johnson should also continue to see a healthy dose of running plays. He has had an outstanding season and will need a big push from two backup guards up front in Earl Watford and John Wetzel.

Prediction

The Cardinals are the better and more talented team here. If last week was any indication, they will continue to build off of their win last week this week. Palmer might be a little rusty to start, but Bruce Arians is gonna have him air it out a bunch to get him right. Ryan Fitzpatrick is going to be missing key players and the Arizona defense is going to come after him with Markus Golden and Chandler Jones, which will create turnovers. Arizona wins a big one at home on Monday night.

Pick: Cardinals 34, Jets 13
