During an intermission at a Chicago Blackhawks game, gold medalist Simone Biles shot the puck.

The Chicago Blackhawks are coming off a rough 5-2 home opener loss to the St. Louis Blues. One of the game’s highlights didn’t even come during the game. It came between periods when Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles shot the puck. Biles is extraordinarily talented at many things, but sadly hockey is not one of them.

Her shot goes extremely wide and doesn’t came anywhere close to the goal. To be fair, Biles is not used to performing on ice. She’s used to performing on solid, non-slippery surfaces. Despite the comedic attempt at shooting the puck, Biles takes it in stride.

Perhaps the Blackhawks could have used Biles on Wednesday. The Blackhawks had a less than ideal start to their season. Chicago and St. Louis were quite evenly matched until the third period, when the Blackhawks had a meltdown. On the Blues’ last goal, the Blackhawks put the puck in the net for them on a terrible sequence. The Blackhawks need to find tape of the play and light it on fire because nothing productive could come from watching it.

Chicago is coming off a first round exit in the playoffs. After losing Teuvo Teravainen to the Carolina Hurricanes, the Blackhawks are relying on a lot of young players. Despite this, the Blackhawks are still very close to the salary cap, which could make in-season acquisitions difficult. In a very competitive Central Division, a playoff spot is not a sure thing for the Blackhawks. Chicago will try to bounce back on Friday when they face the Nashville Predators on the road. They also face the Predators at home on Saturday.
