When will the 2016-17 NBA Slam Dunk Contest take place?

The NBA Slam Dunk Contest has been reinvigorated over the last couple of seasons. Some players have really taken pride in the contest and have aimed to put on the best show possible for fans. For two years in a row, Zach LaVine has won the contest for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Last year, LaVine and Aaron Gordon went toe-to-toe in what some felt was one of the best dunk contests ever. If LaVine is going to go for the three-peat this year, he’s going to have plenty of competition out there from some of the best in the league.

For those that are wondering when the Slam Dunk Contest will take place this year, it will take place on NBA All-Star Saturday Night. That will be held at the Smoothie King Center on Saturday, February 18, 2016. The show will air on TNT and there will be a panel of legends that will judge the contest just as they do every year.

It’s going to be tough to live up to the hype of past contests, but with plenty of athletic guys, the best in the NBA will give it their best at trying to put on a contest that won’t ever be forgotten.
