Both teams coming off big wins in Week 6, the Buffalo Bills (4-2) will head to Miami to play the Dolphins (2-4) in their first matchup of the year.

Having put together a string of four straight wins in a row, the Bills are flying hot and having already beaten the Patriots, should be considered contenders in the AFC. Whether or not they remain “serious” contenders down the road, a win on Sunday would move mountains for this Bills team, who started the season 0-2.

Head coach Rex Ryan appears to no longer be on the hot seat either, which is a huge relief. The way this Bills team executes their offense has been a vast improvement from last year. Buffalo’s +8 turnover differential is the second-best mark in the league. Tyrod Taylor has only thrown two interceptions this season.

In order to stay relevant in this game, Ryan Tannehill can’t continue to give the defense an opportunity to intercept the ball. He has seven of them already which is tied for third worst in the NFL. The Bills milk turnovers into points, they have 39 points off of turnovers this year. Perhaps even more impressive is that they have only given away six points off of turnovers.

Miami’s opponents have 23 points off of turnovers thus far, so taking care of the ball will be imperative for Miami. Next for the Dolphins is their run game. How will they respond after Jay Ajayi lit it up against Pittsburgh last week for 204 rushing yards and two touchdowns?

Buffalo has done a great job stopping opposing running backs. They are giving up only 78 yards per game to opposing running backs. Their ability to run the ball last week took major stress off of Tannehill, who threw only 32 passes and completed 75 percent of those throws. According to PFF, Tannehill has an adjusted completion percentage of 79.6 percent, the third best among QB’s.
