Week 8 of the college football season has arrived! Here are a few players who have seen their 2017 NFL Draft stock on the rise and a pair who have seen it drop.

Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford: Stock Down

Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey finished second in last years Heisman voting, despite setting records across the board. Many believed he should have beaten Alabama running back Derrick Henry, and that McCaffrey playing on the west coast prevented voters from getting a close look at him due to the time differences.

With the spotlight shining bright, McCaffrey burst onto the scene once again to start the 2016 season. In his first three games, the junior rushed for 436 yards and three touchdowns, while also contributing as a receiver and a threat on special teams.

Since those first handful of games, McCaffrey has been extremely limited by an undisclosed injury. He had just 119 yards of offense in his next two games, and did not score a touchdown in either contest. Last week he was forced to sit out against Notre Dame, but did return against Colorado with 92 rushing yards.

The full extent of McCaffrey’s injury is not known, but it will certainly raise some red flags for NFL coaches should the running back leave Stanford after this season. The Cardinals have five games remaining on their regular season schedule, all against teams currently unranked. If McCaffrey is able to return healthy, he could rejuvenate his stock against teams such as Rice or Oregon.
