We had our first College Football titan fall this season, but how did Ohio State losing to Penn State effect the AP Poll?

The world of College Football was shaken up pretty tremendously last night, as one of the top teams in the country fell. Alabama managed to stay undefeated, but the same cannot be said about Urban Meyer’s Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Buckeyes lost on a blocked field goal that went the distance for Penn State, and now we’re going to have to deal with the fallout.

Here’s a look at the AP Poll for Week 8 in College Football:

Note: The AP Poll will be released at 2pm ET. Here is a projection of the poll, which will be updated as soon as it goes live.

1. Alabama (8-0)
2. Michigan (7-0)
3. Clemson (7-0)
4. Washington (7-0)

This is pretty much what we expected from the Top-4. Ohio State has some work cut out for them,  as it was fully expected that they’d tumble. That was a two-fold debate though, as we all wondered if Michigan would take their place or get lap frogged. With Jim Harbaugh’s tea now up to No. 2 in the country, there was room for Washington to slide into the final playoff spot.

5. Louisville (6-1)
6. Ohio State (6-1)
7. Nebraska (7-0)
8. Baylor (6-0)
9. Texas A&M (6-1)
10. West Virginia (6-0)
11. Wisconsin (5-2)
12. Florida State (5-2)
13. Boise State (7-0)
14. Florida (5-1)
15. Auburn (5-2)

Ohio State falling to No. 6 in the country is almost a blessing. There is still very much a chance for them to get back into the playoff picture with that showdown with Michigan likely looming larger than ever. They’ll need to catch a break by having Nebraska fall though, as things just got very real for Urban Meyer and company.

16. Oklahoma (5-2)
17. Utah (7-1)
18. Tennessee (5-2)
19. LSU (5-2)
20. Western Michigan (8-0)
21. North Carolina (6-2)
22. Navy (5-1)
23. Colorado (6-2)
24. Penn State (5-2)
25. Oklahoma State (5-2)

We’ll have to wait until next week to see if any other titans fall from the ranks.
