The NFL debut of the first overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft may be coming sooner than later, as Jared Goff was taking first-team reps this week.

The Los Angeles Rams are pretty bad, and they may be making a change at quarterback soon. Head coach Jeff Fisher said recently that they are sticking with Case Keenum as their starter, but the writing is on the wall. First overall pick Jared Goff has been getting first-team reps in practice and could be ready to go sooner than later. The Rams need a spark, and if he is ready, it is time to go to Goff.

Denver unveiled a solid 1-2 punch at running back in their Monday Night Football drubbing of the Houston Texans. C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker each scored a touchdown as they displayed a thunder and lightning-type mix. That show will have to be put on hold for now, as Anderson is currently dealing with a bone bruise. He is slated to miss a handful of games.

During the Broncos Monday Night Football win against the Houston Texans, star defensive end DeMarcus Ware had his house robbed. In the robbery, the thieves took his Super Bowl 50 championship ring. On Wednesday, the ring was found and returned to its rightful place in Ware’s house. Ware has been trying to return from a fractured forearm, and was actually on the field at practice on Wednesday.

Over in Cleveland, it is Josh McCown time once again. McCown will be the team’s starting quarterback in Week 8, as he takes over for the concussed Cody Kessler. The quarterback position has been a revolving door for the Browns, who are the only bad professional team left in Cleveland. The Browns are currently 0-7 on the season, and are in danger of becoming the anti-1972 Miami Dolphins.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton does not plan on changing his game any time soon. Newton told reporters on Wednesday that he does not plan to stop running and that it is his ability to do so that gives him an edge over other quarterbacks in the league. The Panthers have played horrible this season, and are in line to pick high in the 2017 NFL Draft. Maybe they can grab a running back that can take some of the pressure off of him in the run game.
