5 reasons Ohio State still makes the College Football Playoff
4. There is hope for a Big Ten Championship
The Big Ten is arguably the best conference in College Football. Yes. I said it. Sorry SEC fans, that wasn’t a typo. For those who are in disagreement, take a gander at the top 10 teams in the AP college football rankings. The Jim Harbaugh-led Michigan Wolverines are No. 2, OSU, stands at No. 6, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers are No. 7. It’s no secret that the strength of conference play has an influence on the CFP committee.
As seen in the inaugural year in 2015, Big 12 powerhouses in Baylor and TCU were one the outside looking in due to the multitude of reasons, but mainly due to the Big 12 being jam-packed with bottom-feeder teams and of course, not having a championship game.
Ohio State controls their own destiny, and all hope isn’t lost. While Michigan fans may believe they have it better than everybody, let’s pump the brakes. Yes, Ohio State lost to an unranked Penn State team, but to no surprise, all is well in Columbus.
Going forward, the Buckeyes have a tough road ahead of them. If they win, it should be a given that they make their second College Football Playoffs in three years.
