Bill Murray reacts to Cubs losing lead in Game 7 (Photo)
Chicago Cubs fan Bill Murray looked quite sad after Aroldis Chapman gave up a tying home run to Rajai Davis.
There are very few people that love the Chicago Cubs as much as Bill Murray. He attends just about every game and has devoted his non-acting life to the team. He’s been there through the good times and through the bad times.
Murray has been at every World Series game thus far and he was in Cleveland to see his Cubs in Game 7 on Tuesday night. As the Cubs took a big lead, Murray and the rest of the Chicago faithful were ecstatic. However, Aroldis Chapman would come into the game in the eighth inning and would allow the Indians to tie the game, after Rajai Davis hit an incredible tying home run. Murray had a somber look on his face after.
The look on his face is a sad one and certainly embodies the spirit of Cubs fans everywhere. It’s hard to imagine that anyone saw Chapman blowing the lead the way that he did and the reactions from Indians fans and Cubs fans couldn’t be any different.
For Murray, it was a reminder that it is never over until it’s over. Sports are meant to bring people together and occasionally break their hearts collectively too.
