With the No. 4 Texas A&M Aggies losing to the Mississippi State Bulldogs, here is what the Top 10 of the College Football Playoff rankings could look like.

The No. 4 Texas A&M Aggies were upset by the 3-5 Mississippi State Bulldogs on the road in Starkville, 28-21. This was Texas A&M’s second SEC West loss of the season, with the previous one coming to the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide.

Texas A&M lost starting quarterback Trevor Knight in this game to a shoulder injury. The Aggies will certainly fall in Tuesday’s College Football Playoff rankings. Here is what the Top 10 could look like, assuming this is the lone upset on Saturday in Week 10:

  1. Alabama Crimson Tide
  2. Clemson Tigers
  3. Michigan Wolverines
  4. Ohio State Buckeyes
  5. Washington Huskies
  6. Louisville Cardinals
  7. Wisconsin Badgers
  8. Auburn Tigers
  9. Florida Gators
  10. Penn State Nittany Lions

Alabama would stay at No. 1 by beating the LSU Tigers on the road in Baton Rouge. Until Alabama loses a game, the Crimson Tide have earned the right to be No. 1 every week going forward.

Clemson would stick at No. 2 by beating the Syracuse Orange at home. Michigan stays at No. 3 by defeating the Maryland Terrapins in the Big House.

Assuming Ohio State knocks off the No. 10 Nebraska Cornhuskers at home on Saturday night, the Buckeyes would improve to No. 4 in the College Football Rankings with that big victory over a highly-ranked opponent. Washington would spend another week on the outside looking in at No. 5 after defeating the California Golden Bears in Berkley.

Louisville would move up a spot to No. 6 after obliterating the Boston College Eagles in Chestnut Hill. At No. 7 would be Wisconsin if the Badgers beat the Northwestern Wildcats in Evanston. Auburn would move up to No. 8 after surviving a scare at home to the Vanderbilt Commodores.

No. 9 would be Florida, assuming the Gators handle the Arkansas Razorbacks in Fayetteville. At No. 10 would be Penn State if the Nittany Lions can beat the Iowa Hawkeyes at home on Saturday night. Texas A&M would seriously fall all the way to No. 11 with this bad road loss to Mississippi State.
