These are the things we learned from the Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

The Carolina Panthers came away with a physical win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. After defeating the Arizona Cardinals last week, the Panthers kept the momentum rolling and were able to secure another big win that will keep them in the playoff chase.

The Rams on the other hand played ugly football and it was not a good day for them. Case Keenum was okay, but the Rams couldn’t get anything going on offense and their defense had to suffer as a result again in the 13-10 loss. Here are three things we learned in the win.

3. Onside kicks aren’t an exact science

Kicking and recovering an onside kick is not an easy task. However, it was a bad day for teams trying to kick an onside kick on Sunday. After Chris Boswell kicked a terrible one for the Steelers, there was a bad one from Greg Zuerlein as well. The kicker sent it 55 yards down the field and his team had no chance at recovering. Maybe there was miscommunication, but it was ugly.

2. The Panthers are still in the playoff hunt

After starting 1-5, the Carolina Panthers are not out of things yet. While the Atlanta Falcons have a comfortable lead, the Panthers are still in the thick of things in the Wild Card race. The great news for them is that the NFC isn’t doing anything special and they will still have their chances to get in so long as they keep winning.

1. It’s time for Jared Goff

At 3-5, the Rams aren’t done yet either but they’re on their way there. The team has lost four straight games and they aren’t getting better. Jared Goff has been waiting all year for his chance and through Week 9 he has yet to get it. One has to wonder when Jeff Fisher will make the switch.
