It is already Week 11 of the 2016 college football season. Where will ESPN College GameDay be setting up shop this weekend?

The 2016 college football season will be in Week 11 this weekend. The College Football Playoff picture is getting clearer by the week. Will a Playoff hopeful get to host ESPN College GameDay on Saturday?

For the second time in three weeks, the No. 5 Washington Huskies will get to play in the game featured on College GameDay. The Huskies knocked off the Utah Utes in Salt Lake City two weeks ago, but this time Washington will be hosting College GameDay in Seattle.

This is the sixth time that Washington will be on College GameDay and only the second time the Huskies will be hosting the Saturday pre-game morning show. It’s a good call for the ESPN crew to go to a great American city like Seattle, especially with the Huskies undefeated at 9-0.

Admittedly, there wasn’t an obvious game for ESPN to set up shop this week. Washington versus the USC Trojans makes up for the Pac-12 not usually getting its fair share of games. If GameDay wasn’t going to be in Seattle, two other possible locations could have been Iowa City for Michigan at Iowa and Norman for Baylor at Oklahoma.

Again, ESPN made the right call by going to Washington in Week 11. The Huskies are the Pac-12’s best shot at getting into the 2017 College Football Playoff. Washington can drop a game and presumably get in if the Huskies win the Pac-12 Championship.

GameDay would be a nice consolation prize for potentially bitter Huskies fans if Washington sticks at No. 5 in the rankings this week. It wouldn’t be all that shocking if that were the case.

The No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes wiped the floor with the No. 10 Nebraska Cornhuskers in Columbus this past Saturday. That win should be enough for the Buckeyes to leapfrog Washington and get to No. 4 after Texas A&M’s loss to Mississippi State.
