DraftKings NBA Picks for November 9

We have the biggest night of the season with 11 games going on. There are some teams on back to backs, so look out for resting players! There are a few high priced players to build around. Who should we take as the centerpiece of our DraftKings lineup?

More from DFS

DraftKings is making one very important change for the 2016-2017 season. For some strange reason, they gave up their only advantage over FanDuel for NBA games. DraftKings decided to lock ALL games when the contest starts just as FanDuel does.

The big difference now between FanDuel and DraftKings is the lineups. FanDuel has one more slot, but you are confined to two of every position except center, where you get one. On DraftKings, you get a starting five plus a G, F, and UTIL. This is still an advantage over FanDuel because we can play two centers even though the roster is smaller!

Best Bets:

James Harden ($11,500): Harden has outperformed everyone since November started. He has 271 DraftKings points in just four games this month. The Spurs may make him work for it, but he has only been below 57.5 DraftKings points (5x value) twice this season. Play him with confidence!

Stephen Curry ($9,000): Curry hit an NBA record 13 three point shots on Tuesday, and now he gets a Dallas team that has struggled to guard the perimeter. I’m not saying that he hits that many triples again, but he should come close.

Honorable Mention:

Damian Lillard ($9,100): Lillard was back to form last night, racking up 48.25 DraftKings points against the Blazers. However, considering he was banged up against the Mavs over the weekend, the Blazers may not ride him as hard in the second game of a back to back.

J.J. Barea ($6,700): Since Deron Williams was “doubtful” for last night’s game, the chances of him playing tonight are not good. That means the Mavs will lean heavily on Barea again, who racked up 37.75 DraftKings points last night. Expect somewhere near 6x value out of him again!

Dark Horses:

Dennis Schroder ($6,000): Schroder is approaching the area now where he is criminally under priced. He racked up a season-high 41 DraftKings points last night, and brought his three game average to 37.2. That is a shade above 6x value.

Sergio Rodriguez ($5,500): The Pacers have allowed the third most fantasy points to the point guard slot this season. While his ceiling would seem to be about 35 DraftKings points, he has consistently been at 28-30. That is a solid 5.7x value.

My pick: Barea(PG), Schroder(G)

Best Bets:

DeMar DeRozan ($8,000): DeRozan had an off night on Sunday, going just 7-20 from the floor. It may be a bit of an indicator that he is cooling off, but he could get right back on it against the Thunder tonight. They have not done so well on the perimeter in the early going.

C.J. McCollum ($7,000): That is back to back huge games for McCollum. C.J. posted 109 DraftKings points in his last two games. The Clippers will likely slow him down some, but 35 would seem like an off night for him right now. McCollum should still get at least 5x value tonight.

Honorable Mention:

Avery Bradley ($6,500): Bradley got a couple of badly needed days off, though you wouldn’t really know his shoulder was ailing the way he is playing in the early going. Bradley remains the best bargain on the board, averaging 39.8 DraftKings points per game, or 6.1x value. On average!

Rodney Hood ($5,800): Hood is another guy that has been frequenting my lineups so far this year. Hood has averaged 32.5 DraftKings points per game this month. That shouldn’t let up tonight against a Charlotte team that has struggled against opposing SG’s.

Dark Horses:

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($4,800): KCP was dreadful against the Clippers in his last outing, which proves that he is still not matchup proof. However, he has done well against teams that don’t defend well. The Suns are dead last in points allowed to shooting guards. He should bounce back nicely tonight.

Seth Curry ($3,000): Just a warning: DFS players are going to be all over Curry tonight. No one benefitted more from the absence of Deron Williams than Curry. Curry played 31 minutes and racked up 42 DraftKings points against the Lakers. He may not hit that high mark again, but the Warriors haven’t exactly defended the perimeter well so far this year. He could see plenty of open shots.

My pick: Bradley(SG)

Best Bets:

Kevin Durant ($9,500): Durant had his worst game as a Warrior on Monday. Don’t let that sway you tonight. The Mavericks have given up the third most points to the small forward slot, and that slot could be even worse if Barnes starts at PF again, leaving Wesley Matthews at SF. That seems likely to happen again with both Dirk Nowitzki and Deron Williams out.

Carmelo Anthony ($7,600): The Nets got eaten alive by Andrew Wiggins last night, and have now allowed the second most points to small forwards. Melo himself has picked it up lately, compiling 85.5 DraftKings points in the last two games. He is a lock for 5x value, and should be at or over 6x.

Honorable Mention:

Gordon Hayward ($6,800): Hayward is putting up his normal numbers from last year at about 80% of the price. He has averaged 35.25 DraftKings points in his two games, and wont have any trouble reaching that against the Hornets. He will come close to 6x value once again.

Nicolas Batum ($6,000): Batum’s consistency makes him a nice staple for cash games, but a rather bland pick for GPP tournaments. That said, it is never a bad thing to have someone this consistent in your lineup. Batum has been between 28 and 37 DraftKings points in all seven games this year. You know exactly what you are getting.

Andrew Wiggins ($6,000): Wiggins torched the Nets for 52 DraftKings points last night, by far his season high. Tonight he gets another team that has not defended SF’s well in Orlando, but they are still far better than the Nets. Expect Wiggins closer to 6x value tonight than 9x.

Dark Horse:

C.J. Miles ($4,600): The 76ers are statistically the worst defense in the league right now. Miles has been outstanding for his price with Rodney Stuckey out. He has played between 22 and 25 minutes in every game, and has scored between 23 and 33 DraftKings points. That leaves him right at 5x value at worst!

Jaylen Brown ($4,500): His minutes will fluctuate a lot, even in the absence of Jae Crowder because the Celtics are very diverse with their bench players. He had a great game against Cleveland when Crowder was out, but played only 21 minutes against Denver on Sunday. He matches up a little better with Washington, but just be aware that he could wind up being a complete bust……or a 38 point revelation.

My pick: Hayward(SF), Batum(F)

Best Bets:

Draymond Green ($7,900): The Mavericks weren’t particularly strong up front, even with Dirk Nowitzki in there. They are less so now. The thing that makes Green a must-play for me is that he doesn’t need points to come up big in DraftKings. He scored just four points against the Pelicans on Monday, but he still racked up 44 DraftKings points. He is the lowest risk option out there.

Paul Millsap ($7,700): Millsap dominated Houston on the inside on Saturday night. He will likely be able to do the same to a Bulls team that is 24th in points allowed to power forwards.

Honorable Mention:

Kristaps Porzingis ($7,200): Porzingis has been money since Derrick Rose realized he was on the team. Over the last two games, Porzingis has 76.75 DraftKings points. That is well within 5x value, and he should be even higher than that against a suspect Nets frontcourt.

Aaron Gordon ($5,600): Gordon has proven to be a solid, but somewhat inconsistent, player for the Magic. When he plays more than 30 minutes, he provide close to 6x value, but he has fallen under that mark a few times. He shouldn’t against Minnesota, and should have ample shot opportunities.

Dark Horses:

Trevor Booker ($5,200): Once again, Booker was a force against the Timberwolves last night. Booker has racked up 72.5 DraftKings points over his last two games. he should approach 7x value for the third straight game tonight against the Knicks.

Jon Leuer ($4,500): Leuer has been over 5x value in each of the last three games. The Pistons are getting him good minutes, and he has responded with good scoring an rebounding. It’s hard to count on non-starters, but Leuer has been about as solid as they get off the bench.

My pick: Booker(PF)

Best Bets:

Karl-Anthony Towns ($8,500): Towns has been an absolute beast lately. He has 139.25 DraftKings points over the last three games, and while he faces a bit of a tougher matchup with Orlando tonight, he should still be in the neighborhood of 5x value.

Dwight Howard ($7,500): Howard was not much of a force on offense last night, but he still snagged 17 rebounds. He has still topped 40 DraftKings points in all but one game. He is close to must-play status tonight against the Bulls, who are relatively weak in the middle.

Honorable Mention:

Rudy Gobert ($6,500): Gobert’s inconsistency is almost exclusively due to foul trouble. He has fouled out of each of the last two games, and was in foul trouble for most of another. That said, he has a nice matchup against the Hornets, who are still without Roy Hibbert. Can he stay out of foul trouble enough to make an impact?

Steven Adams ($5,500): The Raptors have given up the most points in the league to opposing centers, so Adams should have no problem reaching 5x value. Adams has been at or above that mark in each of his last three games and four out of five.

Dark Horses:

Enes Kanter ($5,100): Kanter has put up 78.5 DraftKings points over his last two games. He may be an even better play than Adams, despite playing only about 22 minutes per game. At any rate, they should both have a strong game against the Raptors.

Mason Plumlee ($5,000): Plumlee has thrived in Portland, averaging 25.8 DraftKings points per game so far this year. That should continue even against the Clippers, who have struggled so far against opposing centers.

My pick: Howard(C), Kanter(UTIL)
