Miles Bridges definitely announced himself to the nation the right way on Friday night against Arizona in the Armed Forces Classic

As is usually the case every year in college basketball nowadays, the 2016-17 season is loaded with a talented group of freshmen that no doubt will one day have a shot at becoming legitimate NBA stars in the near future. One of those freshmen is Miles Bridges of the Michigan State Spartans.

Friday night in Hawaii as part of the Armed Forces Classic, Bridges made his national television debut for Michigan State, and to say that Spartans fans are optimistic about this season with this young man on the court might be an understatement. If there were some college basketball fans out there who didn’t know who Bridges was coming into Friday’s game against the Wildcats, they certainly do now.

When all was said and done in this one, Bridges finished with 21 points, six rebounds and two assists in the close Michigan State loss. Not a bad way to get your collegiate career started by any means.

When you watch the way that this young man performed on Friday night against what should be one of the best teams in the nation this year in Arizona, how can you not be happy as a Michigan State fan? Heck, if you’re a college basketball fan in general, you know it’s gonna be a fun campaign watching him grow and mature throughout the season.

Bridges is indeed one of the more highly-touted players in college basketball this season, and he may only be staying one year in East Lansing. But we know after Friday night that it will be one fun year with this young man on the court.
