Michigan State star freshman Miles Bridges didn’t take long to show the nation that he is indeed for real
College basketball is back in full force on Friday night, and with that, we get a new crop of freshmen that we get to keep an eye on. One of the highly-touted freshmen that’s coming into our lives is Miles Bridges of the Michigan State Spartans.
Friday night to get their season started in the Armed Forces Classic in Hawaii, the Spartans are taking on the Arizona Wildcats, and it didn’t take long for everyone in America to get a good look at the talent that Bridges is.
As Michigan State was off to a hot start in the first half of this one, jumping out to a big lead over the Wildcats early, Bridges dazzled everyone in attendance with this beautiful reverse jam.
That was just a small glimpse of what Bridges can do, and to think that we get a whole season of watching this young man grow is pretty exciting to ponder here in the month of November. Who knows just how much better he’ll be come January, February and even March for head coach Tom Izzo and the Spartans.
There was a lot of good for Michigan State early in this one, especially with the play of Bridges who scored five points during his first two minutes of college basketball play. At one point, Michigan State held a 21-2 lead.
However, it wouldn’t last all that long, as Arizona stormed their way back and actually ended up taking the lead, something that didn’t seem all that possible with the way things got started in Hawaii on Friday night.
Now we’ll see if young Bridges can will this Michigan State team to victory on opening night.
