The North Carolina Tar Heels face the Tulane Green Wave at the Smoothie King Center on Friday. Here’s how to watch this game online.

It’s been a little more than seven months since the North Carolina Tar Heels had their hearts stomped on by Kris Jenkins and the Villanova Wildcats. Losing the national championship on a buzzer-beater three is a wound that doesn’t heal quickly. However, it’s been enough time now and the Tar Heels must pick up the pieces to try and get back to that point. That journey begins on Friday against the Tulane Green Wave at the Smoothie King Center.

North Carolina lost Marcus Paige and Brice Johnson as seniors last season, leaving a bit of a hole in their roster. However, they still have veterans such as Kennedy Meeks, Isaiah Hicks and Justin Jackson that could take a step forward and lead the way. Moreover, Joel Berry showed real flashes last season and freshmen Tony Bradley and Brandon Robinson could step up big in their first game. The talent is there, but things need to come together quickly, especially after losing Theo Pinson to injury.

For the Green Wave, head coach Mike Dunleavy Sr. has high hopes for a team with real talent. Though there are plenty of young contributors, Dunleavy will surely look to senior Malik Morgan to set the tone and get this team rolling in the right direction. They’ll need Morgan to guide them if they’re to pull off an opening-night upset.
