The UCF Golden Knights will be honoring US troops this Saturday with new helmet decals.
This Saturday the UCF Golden Knights will play host to the Cincinnati Bearcats at Bright House Networks Stadium in Orlando. With Veteran’s Day coming the day before the game, it will be “Military Appreciation Day” at the stadium.
Central Florida comes into the game at 5-4 and looks to become bowl eligible with a win. The Bearcats have lost four of their past five games, but a win would move them back to .500.
On the sideline for UCF will be Purple Heart recipient Rory Coleman. He currently plays defensive end for the Knights, but only a few years ago he was fighting for our country in Afghanistan. Coleman spent 2009-2013 in active duty for the U.S Army as a combat medic.
He is active for the United States Army Reserve as a medical instructor, despite being seriously injured by a grenade blast in 2011.
He made the team in 2016 as a walk-on and has made two tackles.

The Golden Knights will have new helmets made for “Military Appreciation Day.” Each gold helmet will have the logo of one of the five military branches on one side. The other side of the helmet will have UCF’s normal logo, but instead of the normal gold it will be the colors of the American flag.
In his first year as head coach, Scott Frost has made UCF the most improved team of 2016. The former Oregon offensive coordinator took over a team that was win-less in 2015. At 3-2 in conference, the Knights can still win the American Athletic Conference East division.

Central Florida enters the game as 11.5 point favorites over Cincinnati.
