White, who led the team in rebounding last season, will be back as well. Also, senior point guard Diante Baldwin will be returning as the team’s leader in assists last season.
On the other side of the court, the Cavaliers are currently ranked No. 8 in the AP polls and No. 7 in the USA Today polls. They are 17-1 in their last 18 season openers. Virginia will be looking to start their season strong despite having to begin on the road. On the other hand, UNC Greensboro will try to upset the top 10 Cavaliers and get perhaps their biggest win over a ranked opponent in years. The Cavaliers will have a new look lineup after graduating several of their top players from last season, so this should be a good test for them.
