James Conner scored late in the game on Saturday against Clemson and he ended a dude with a stiff-arm in the process

Throughout this entire college football season, it has been nothing short of remarkable to watch the comeback of Pitt Panthers running back James Conner. Last year Conner was diagnosed with cancer and he has literally fought all the way back to be able to take the field this season.

What we have found out about Conner and his resurgence is that he has not missed a beat when it comes to being a one-man wrecking crew. Hell, if anything, he’s become more of a destructive force, and that was on display Saturday.

The Panthers are on the road taking on the No. 2 team in the country in the Clemson Tigers, and they’re trying for the upset. Late in the game, Conner scored to pull the Panthers to within two, and in the process of that scoring run, Conner stiff-armed a Clemson defender right off of his feet.

That’s just vicious from Conner there, but throughout his career in Pittsburgh, that is what we have come to expect from the bruising back. When someone gets in his way, he’s going to make sure that they regret it — and he did that once again here.

Of course, Pitt would go for two as they look to upset one of the top teams in the country, but unfortunately Clemson was able to get enough pressure on the quarterback to make sure that didn’t happen on an attempted pass play. So, Pitt would have to settle for being down by two as opposed to tied with the Tigers.

Still, that doesn’t take anything away from Conner showing us all once again that he is one of the most destructive forces in the world on the football field.
