Maryland wearing new ‘Red Ops’ uniforms vs Ohio State (Photo)

The Maryland Terrapins will be rocking some tight new uniforms for their huge matchup with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Maryland Terrapins have arguably their biggest matchup of the 2016 college football season ahead of them in Week 11. There are plenty of big matchups throughout the Big Ten each year. However, it always conjures thoughts of an upset when the No. 5-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes come to Maryland for a big showdown in the conference.

Make no mistake, this Terrapins team is not the same caliber as the Buckeyes. While the one-loss Buckeyes still have dreams of a College Football Playoff berth, the Terps are still trying to get bowl eligible at 5-4 on the season. Among that, they are also simply trying to get just their third win in conference play on the season. Needless to say, they’ll be up against it when facing JT Barrett and Ohio State. However, they’ll at least be battling in style.

Ahead of this huge matchup, the Terrapins athletic program unveiled the uniforms they’ll be wearing. It’s an all-red look they’re calling “Red Ops” and it looks fantastic. These will be debuting on Saturday at the Ohio State game:

The best part here, of course, is that we don’t have to see those ungodly Maryland flag helmets that they normally wear for a week.

With this game being played just a day after Veteran’s Day, it’s not so subtle that these are definitely an homage to the military, seen in the name with the “Red Ops” moniker for the jerseys. Hopefully that’ll give this Maryland team a little extra boost as Urban Meyer’s team comes to town. Frankly, they’re going to need all of the help that they can get.
