NFL Mock Draft: Deshaun Watson falling
By Brad Weiss
Jabrill Peppers is arguably the most dynamic player in all of college football, and it is safe to say he is going to be drafted very high next April. The Jacksonville Jaguars would have the third overall pick if the season ended today, and they need a lot of help on the defensive side of the ball. Bringing in a player like Peppers would upgrade them at the linebacker position, while giving them the kind of player that can make game-changing plays.
Peppers is not only a solid linebacker, but he has the speed to play in the defensive secondary at the next level as well. In addition, he could be used as a return man for the Jaguars, who are still looking for their identity under Gus Bradley. Bradley has to get this pick right, because even the Jags front office will be looking to make a change if they continue to go in the wrong direction.
Quarterback Blake Bortles is entrenched at the position, so I do not expect them to take another arm at the third selection. He is having a down year, and most of his yards come in garbage time, but he does have the ability to be successful. If they team can continue to upgrade their defense, they should have a chance to do some damage in a very winnable AFC South next season.
