The Chicago Bears took one on the chin this past weekend, and the man at the center of it all was quarterback Jay Cutler. Cutler was a turnover machine against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as the Bears lost by 26 points. Cutler threw two interceptions, and fumbled twice, as he continuously stalled Bears drives with his miscues. It was a definite step back for a player who seemed to play inspired football after returning from injury in Week 9.

North Carolina quarterback Mitch Trubisky would be a perfect fit for the Bears, who have a couple of nice young running backs in their backfield. He has the arm to play at the next level right away, and his football I.Q. is second to none in this draft class. Some believe he could be the first quarterback taken in April’s draft, but he just does not make sense in a Chip Kelly offense.

Trubisky had a rough game against Duke his last time out, throwing a costly interception late in the game. However, he is not as turnover prone as a player like Cutler is, and has the type of personality that the players rally around. An unnamed Bears player recently said that Cutler has lost the support of the locker room, so it is time for the team to go in another direction.
