The Sunday Night Football matchup will be a good one, as it will feature two teams looking to stay alive in the playoff race in the NFC.

On Sunday night, the Washington Redskins will welcome the Green Bay Packers to town in an NFC matchup of two teams fighting for their playoff lives. The Packers are under .500 for the first time in eight seasons and have lost their last three games. Washington is hanging tough in the NFC East, which looks like it may be won by the Dallas Cowboys this season.

Washington played well last weekend, beating the Minnesota Vikings in a game that could have huge playoff implications later on. Both teams could be fighting for a wildcard spot, and a win against the opponent is the tiebreaker. Quarterback Kirk Cousins continues to find a way to win games and could have Washington in the playoffs for the second straight season.

Over in Green Bay, there has been some very bad football being played, though Aaron Rodgers did look better last week. The main issue has been that there has been no running game this season, but that could change now. The team signed Christine Michael this past week, as the Seattle Seahawks waived their leading rusher. Michael could be missing piece the team needs to turn things around.

Both teams are still very much alive in the playoff race, but the season is starting to get very late. Luckily for the Packers, they are still within striking distance in their division, where at 4-5, they are just behind the division leaders at 5-4. Washington is looking up at the 8-1 Cowboys, so the wildcard will likely be their only way in this season.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 8:30pm ET and will be televised nationally on NBC. It will be interesting to see if the Packers can put a complete game together, as they have more talent than the Redskins do. However, Cousins has done a nice job working guys like Jamison Crowder into the mix this season, and they are always a threat to come away with the win.
