Rodney Pryor really sent Georgetown into the locker room with some momentum on Monday with this shot against Oregon

The Georgetown Hoyas are off to a 1-2 start to the 2016-17 college basketball season, which really isn’t ideal by their legendary standards at all. However, the good news is that the season is still quite young, meaning that they have some time to get some good quality wins under their belt, beginning on Monday in Maui if they can knock off the Pac-12 favorite Oregon Ducks.

Well, after one half of play, it looks as if the Hoyas might be in position to shock the nation in Hawaii, thanks to the play of Rodney Pryor.

Through the first 20 minutes of play, Georgetown holds a commanding 38-21 lead and Pryor has dropped in 18 points. Well, none of those 18 points were more impressive than the last three that he scored.

As time was running down in the first half, Pryor launched this long three as the buzzer was sounding, a three that went right into the hoop to give the Hoyas a bigger lead than they already had to begin with.

That’s about how things are going for Georgetown on Monday afternoon on the island, and again, that’s not a bad thing with the way they’ve started the year. This team needs s huge statement win to give them some confidence as the season rolls along. Defeating a team that many consider a national title contender would definitely give them that confidence boost they so desperately need.

Now we’ll just have to see whether or not Pryor and the rest of the Hoyas can keep this up in the final 20 minutes. If they can, then we will have one of the biggest upsets of the young season on our hands and Georgetown will be off and running the rest of the way.
