That player of course is swingman Rudy Gay. While DeMarcus Cousins’ name is the much bigger one and has been more widely discussed in trade rumors–it seems that only the Oklahoma City Thunder are still chasing Gay–it’s going to take a lot more than another middling season from the Kings for them to let Boogie go. Cousins is just too good, and too well-liked by majority owner Vivek Ranadive, to be given away less than halfway into the tenure of a new head coach. Dave Joerger has had success playing big during his time with the Memphis Grizzlies and to this point it does not seem like there is a fissure the size of the San Andreas Fault in their relationship.
