Jamal Murray was a man on the mission for the Denver Nuggets in their win over the Utah Jazz on Sunday night. The rookie score 16 of his 18 points in the final quarter and looked like the prospect many thought he would be when he was still in high school dominating the Nike Hoop Summit. The Nuggets are another team that should look into making some deals and moves around the NBA Trade Deadline. Unlike with the Orlando Magic though it wouldn’t be because their roster is poorly constructed, but because they have the pieces to make a push at bringing in a superstar that they have lacked since Carmelo Anthony left in the deal with the New York Knicks. With Murray looking like the real deal there’s no time like the present for Denver to try and cash out and get a big name player to help speed up Murray’s development. Nikola Jokic has not been as good as the advanced metrics suggested during his rookie year. The Jusuf Nurkic and Jokic combo together hasn’t lived up to Michael Malone’s preseason expectations. Luckily, the Nuggets kept Kenneth Faried around and his versatility and tenacity have been key for Denver hanging around in a lot of the close games they’ve been in this year.. (5-8). Previous: .
