Once again, the Kentucky Wildcats look like they are going to be a force in the college basketball world. Head coach John Calipari has another crop of star freshmen leading the way and this may be his deepest group in quite a while. Now they look to avoid any early season upsets amidst some big-time non-conference games. On Wednesday afternoon they’ll welcome the Cleveland State Vikings to Rupp Arena.

When you look at the likes of Bam Adebayo, Malik Monk, De’Aaron Fox, and sophomore Isaiah Briscoe, it’s hard not to be in awe of the talent in Lexington this season. What’s more impressive is how quickly that trio of freshmen is showing out. Monk and Fox have been seeing big minutes and essentially been right behind Briscoe and leading. Adebayo’s minutes have been more limited, but have been dominant at times.

For Cleveland State, they’re led by the duo of Rob Edwards and Bobby Word. Both Edwards and Word have put up nice numbers thus far, but the Vikings are just 1-2. No slight to them, but chances are they’ll be in a 1-3 hole to start the year after Wednesday afternoon.
